High flyers kept aloft

Article Abstract:

The highest paid executive working for a British quoted property firm was Peel Holdings' John Whittaker who earned 1.5 million pounds sterling in 1998-99. The average pay for the directors of the top quoted property firms in the UK, for 1998-99, was 353,658 pounds sterling, an increase of 11%. Many of the salaries included a bonus payment which vary from 4,145 pounds sterling to 850,000 pounds sterling. The survey included the salaries of the senior executives in 79 quoted companies, for the financial year 1998-99.

Board rewards for property supremos

Article Abstract:

Company executives in the property industry were awarded an average renumeration of 23% for the 1995-96 year. Listed companies on the London Stock exchange are expected to adopt the remuneration guidelines of the Greenbury Report, where top manager bonuses are awarded for outstanding performance. Shareholders are able to query executive bonus awards if they don't match up to company performance.
