How corporate real estate can drive corporate IT strategies

The real estate industry is increasingly embracing executive inforation systems to obtain the kind of data they need to make better informed, more timely strategic decisions. As a result, corporate real estate information technology has become a rapidly growing industry, with the creation of corporate real estate executive information software systems being a major development in the offing. Value-minded corporate real estate entities will continue exploiting advances in technology to bolster facilities services and effectively deploy corporate strategies across the organization.

Logistics is a global site driver

Article Abstract:

Logistics is the most important factor in selecting a distribution site as strategic incorporation of distribution facilities becomes extensive in Canada, Europe and the US. Calgary, Alberta and Moncton, New Brunswick in Canada are both very popular as distribution locations. Several leading European ports are also strengthening their ranks as distribution centers. Rotterdam in the Netherlands is foreseen to remain the leader in transshipments as the port's volume doubles by 2010.

Issues concerning the importance of location to the success of multinational call centers in Europe are discussed. A brief history of the characteristics of cal centers and their evolution is presented. Aspects related to efficiency and language specialization of regional call centers are examined.
