Managing construction risk and outsourcing development services

Article Abstract:

Owners and developers of real estate properties can accurately predict risk and potential liability in outsourcing development services by understanding the various legal and financial concerns surrounding such agreements. There are specific risks that need to be examined when outsourcing development services. These include pre-development activities, design-related issues, right to evaluate and approve design and construction contracts, and accounting control.

Hotel management contracts under fire and change: a perspective

Article Abstract:

Modifications that existed in recently consummated US domestic management contracts that are significant to hotel developers, asset managers, owners in foreclosure and lenders are analyzed. The changes existent in management contracts are related to the rise in competition among operators, knowledge about management contracts, the negotiating process, contract administration and the recession which plagued the hotel and real estate industries.

Governing the lender-controlled community association in a foreclosure

Lenders who plan to manage an unfinished property development which includes a community of homeowners, need specialist advice from qualified people with specific knowledge of legislation relating to such community developments. An agent appointed by the lender will have responsibilities which can be outlined by experts in these matters, and there will be liability issues which experts can identify.
