Manchester take-off closer for AMEC/Scottish Life

Article Abstract:

The decision by a government inspector that 90 acres at Davenport Green can be removed from the green belt represents a further step in plans by Scottish Life Assurance Co and AMEC Developments to build a business park covering a total of 335 acres near Manchester Airport. The scheme is now part of Trafford council's draft UDP submission. Development work could begin in autumn 1996, with 260 acres being retained as open countryside.
