North carolina claims no. 1 business climate ranking

Article Abstract:

North Carolina ranks as the top state in business climate in 2001, according to a survey conducted by 'Site Selection' magazine. The combination of new and expanded corporate facilities for 2000; total new and expanded corporate facilities in 1998-2000; new and expanded facilities in 1998-2000 per 1 million residents; new and expanded facilities per 1,000 miles in 1998-2000; and real estate executive survey results were used to make the determination.

North Carolina is number one on 'Site Selection's 2001 Top 25 State Business Climate Rankings. The state was judged on five criteria, which included total new and expanded corporate buildings for the year 2000. The state of California came in second.
