Planners prove hard to convert

Article Abstract:

Some local planning officials fear the conversion of farm buildings to business units because they suggest it causes additional traffic problems. But the new buildings are likely to bring businesses to the rural area and create employment for residents. Most UK planning officials prefer to allow farm buildings to be redeveloped for business use rather than converted into housing. Rural business units are profitable for the landowners who only need to pay for the conversion. They are also reduce costs for the new businesses because purpose built business parks tend to be more expensive.
