Article Abstract:

The improving business appeal of South Atlantic states has been been drawing an increased presence of business enterprises in the region, particularly Internet-related firms. In Virginia, for instance, a number of major facilities have been announced, including a $600 million investment by America Online in addition to the $520 million technology center formerly provided by the Internet service giant. Delaware, on the other hand, is looking forward to boost its life sciences market with the construction of AstraZeneca's headquarters in the state.
