Over the past 23 years there have been many developments in medicine. Infectious diseases like syphilis and polio are curable and techniques have been improved. We have microsurgery which can repair nerve tissue and medical examinations using computer technology. Over the next 23 years it is possible that nanosurgery, using microscopic machinery, will be common. Genetic engineering may enable us to grow new organs and a cure for cancer may be found. The internet will enable us access our own medical information and nurses will be respected as health educators.
