Present tense

Article Abstract:

Local property agents report demand for office space in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, England, has improved sufficiently to take up all the vacant buildings from the 1980s. A number of prospective occupiers have been unable to find space. Some agents feel the market is balanced between demand and supply. A limited amount of new building has gone ahead, such as the development of 1.15 million sq ft of mixed space on the Hatfield Business Park. Some developers are reluctant to build as preletting speculative development has been difficult.

Friendly co-operation

Article Abstract:

City officials are very keen to support development projects in Bradford, England, but developers are being hindered by the lack of suitable space. Some retail centres have undergone renovation, with the 2.5 million pounds sterling refurbishment of the Wool Exchange. The main office development has taken place on the outskirts of town. Warehouse and office development projects have been started in the former Forster Square Railway Station site. Bradford can offer companies lower costs than those found in Leeds, England.
