Some of the U.K.'s privatized industries, including coal and electricity, are divesting the management of their pension funds. The 16 privatized electric companies' ESN Investment Management is close to selling its pension portfolio to Foreign & Colonial, while British Gas is reviewing its arrangements following the announcement that it will be demerged. British Coal's CinMan pension fund has a 1.4 billion property portfolio and its disposal has caused arguments between trustees and the government on its price and performance.
