Securicor Omega Express will open its new parcel sorting centre in Hatfield, England, in the summer of 1997. The parcel delivery company has invested 30 million pounds sterling in the operation, which should be one of the most impressive in Europe. The 185,000 square foot building will house a fully automated process capable of handling 36,000 parcels an hour. The company chose the Hatfield Business Park site for its ease of access to major UK motorways, airports and the Willesden European freight terminal.
