Texas tempts business with new tax legislation

Texas is building upon its already-strong trade links to Mexico, and seeks to attract more economic development with recent legislation that caps property taxes within school districts for fixed periods ot time, typically 8-10 years. Legislators acted when the state lost several major projects to other areas on the property tax issue.
