The Basin reshaped

Article Abstract:

Demand for offices in the north of Oxford Street, London, England, is high, with very few empty buildings, causing rents to rise. Some businesses are moving from more expensive areas in London, to pay less in Oxford Street. Few speculative building schemes are expected to go ahead. Some observers have suggested developers in the Paddington, London, England, area have been too slow in starting building work on new office buildings. The launch of the Heathrow Express, in 1998, was seen as an impetus to new development in the area yet only residental building work has taken place.
