Article Abstract:

The UK Country Landowners Association has been trying to work with groups representing walkers. But the UK Ramblers Association is objecting to the way Sussex Landowner Nicholas Hoogstraten is behaving and they intend to take him to court. Hoogstraten has by stopped access to a right of way on his land. The UK will be affected by the introduction of the euro and European Monetary Union even though the government has decide not to join the union. Agriculture, property and retail industries are likely to have to deal in euros.

Article Abstract:

The proposal by the UK Labour government to allow small number of voters to call for local referendums will lead to some pressure groups using the rules to gain control of local government. The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions failed to adequately respond to claims in the media Government Minister Nick Raynsford was acting unfairly and awarding contracts to his former company. The untrue story could lead to undermining the reputation of the UK planning system.

Issues concerning the fiscal policy of the United Kingdom's Labour Government are presented. Reference is made to the challenges facing Chancellor Gordon Brown as a result of the pensions campaign and the fuel crisis. These problems will have an effect on capital investments and infrastructures.
