Bangladesh in 2007: democracy interrupted, political and environmental challenges ahead

Article Abstract:

The article reviews the 2007 turmoil's faced Bangladesh due to a weakened and failing government. Democracy was interrupted when the nonpartisan caretaker government replaced the caretaker government, also the army declared a massive anti-corruption campaign, economy continues to be plagued by structural limitations, and Bangladeshi's are warned to face the consequences of the Earth's climate changes.

Bangladesh in 2003: vibrant democracy or destructive politics?

Article Abstract:

The trend of the confrontational politics that has occupied Bangladesh for decades is continued in 2003. The contestations and controversies that emerged over judicial appointments to the higher courts were the major hurdles for developing democracy in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh in 2002: imperiled democracy

Article Abstract:

The future of democracy in Bangladesh is threatened with the administration appearing aimless and caught up in conflicts within the ruling alliance. The army was called in to tackle the deteriorating law and order situation.
