Children in the scheme of development

Article Abstract:

Development schemes must include development of humanity keeping children in view, since child abuse reflects deracinated humanity. Emphasis on the economic development through optimum utilization of resources in a market economy only breeds powerlessness and poverty among a large section of the people. The poor section of the society neglects its parental obligations by compulsion. Parental inabilities cause a lot of problems for the children because they depend on their parents for proper physical and mental care. Effective community participation can be a solution to the problem.

Labor and social development: Costa Rica and Chile

Article Abstract:

Neoclassical economists criticize the import-substitution-industrialization concept, arguing that such a concept creates economic distortions and exacerbate social problems such as poverty. However, an analysis of the economic growth of Chile and Costa Rica contradicts such an assertion. Chile and Costa Rica have been able to promote greater economic self-reliance and establish systems to uplift the masses.
