Claudel, l'Amerique et les autres vues postmodernes

Article Abstract:

Paul Claudel's essays on America show that he saw himself as an ambassador of Catholicism and of French culture, that he had no desire to become a part of the Anglo-Saxon, Protestant melting pot. Claudel's vision of America has elements of the universalism of the 18th century and the particularism of the 19th. When analyzed in a postmodern way, America seems in his essays like the theme of the other or the stranger in the work of Baudrillard, Todorov and Kristeva. The text of the article is in French.

L'utopie de Christiane Rochefort: le non-principe, une certaine idee du bonheur

Article Abstract:

Christiane Rochefort constructs a utopia in her novel 'Archaos ou le jardin etincelant.' Some might consider her utopias to be anarchy. People do not obey a central power but realize themselves by doing what they want. Sexual behavior is liberated and society is disorganized. People are androgynous rather than masculine or feminine. The text of the article is in French.
