The anticlimax of an ill-starred Sino-American encounter

Article Abstract:

After the Pacific War American troops in China were considered heroes, however, within a year conflict between Kuomintang (KTP) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) escalated and Americans found themselves in the crossfire. The author maintains as American troops increasingly clashed with the CCP anti-American sentiment seeped in, resulting in ruptured ties between the United States and China.

Die for the boycott and nation: martydom and the 1905 anti-American movement in China

Article Abstract:

This article examines the anti-American sentiment in early 20th century China, stemming from the United States revised immigration policy which intended to make it more difficult for Chinese emigrate to the United States. The author, focusing on the suicide of a Chinese student in protest to the United States, explores the Chinese nationalist movement that grew out of the immigration policy, the suicide, and the boycott created by Shanghai merchants.

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the immigration policy of the United States during the early 20th century, infusing an anti-American movement in China. The author, maintaining the United States revised its immigration policy making it more difficult for Chinese to go to the United States, examines the suicide of a Chinese man in protest to the policy and the movement that grew around his martyrdom.
