Some suggestions for teaching intermediate composition

The teaching of intermediate French composition to American students is discussed. Topics include the students and what they know, the tasks facing the intermediate-level instructor, four principles for composition instruction, concrete suggestions, and rejection of commonly-held beliefs.

They're taking me to Marrakesh! A seventh grade French class's fantasy trip to Morocco

The author describes a teaching unit she designed and used to enrich French language study for a 7th-grade class. Participating in a "Moroccan Festival," students were given the experience of living in an exotic French-speaking culture for a day.
