Impacts of macroeconomic policies and financial market performance on output in Singapore: a VAR approach

Article Abstract:

The impacts of several macroeconomic and financial variables on real GDP for Singapore are examined by applying the VAR model because these variables may influence each other in a dynamic way. The results suggested that in the long run, real GDP responds negatively to a shock to the Treasury bill rate, the debt ratio, the real exchange rate, the shock price, the inflation rate and reacts positively to an innovation to real M2 or lagged own output.
