Article Abstract:

Literature can play a role in the teaching of conversational French. Literary texts can be integrated into the course on conversation to enrich and advance cultural discovery. The conversational approach also encourages active exploration of the text. A theme can be investigated using a range of different kinds of texts, including literature along with journalism, films, or songs, for example. Article text is in French.

L'Adaptation cinematographique dans le cours de litterature francaise

Article Abstract:

Film adaptations can be used to enlarge the discussion of literary works in courses on French literature. A method is suggested for integrating film adaptations into the literature course, including practical tips on organization, sample questions and a list of references. Adaptations suitable for French literary studies include film versions of 'Madame Bovary,' 'Therese Raquin,' 'La Religieuse,' and 'Les Liaisons dangereuses.' Article text is in French.
