Malle surrealiste: 'Black Moon.' (Louis Malle)

Article Abstract:

Louis Malle's film 'Black Moon' has not attracted much critical attention but can be studied as an example of surrealism. The main character embarks on a journey reminding the audience of the novels of Andre Breton, meandering through time and space and punctuated by spectacles, adventures and occult signs. Fabulous animals like unicorns and snakes also appear. The black humor of the film and the undertones of psychoanalysis make it unlikely to attract a wide audience.
