Cable Reaches Out

Article Abstract:

Local cable television is providing schools with an effective way of communicating with the community at large. In Williamsburg, Virginia, the Williamsburg-James City County Public School System provides programming for twenty-four hours a day, showing both live and taped school activities. Continental Cablevision provided James City County with a free channel for public educational use, and helped to establish services. With Warner Cablevision giving access to its network in Willliamsburg, schools were able to cover the entire area with programming.
