Postcolonial angst and the Nigerian scholarly estate

Article Abstract:

The conflicted sense of role and identity apparent in Nigerian universities and the socio-political arenas within which such conflicts are being negotiated are explored. The misleading understanding of the realities in Nigeria and in countries with similar trajectories is presented.

Constitutional design and conflict management in Nigeria

Issues are presented concerning the continuance of violent ethnic confrontations following the return of democracy to Nigerian politics. The demands made by the Kano and Odua peoples for regional autonomy are discussed.
