Singapore and ASEAN in the global economy: the case of free trade agreements

Article Abstract:

The initiative taken by Singapore to establish free trade agreements (FTAs) for economic and strategic reasons at the multilateral and regional level through WTO (World trade organization), ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) and the ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) is discussed. The steps taken by Singapore are due to the slow rate movement of global and regional trade liberalization.

Singapore in 2006: An irritating and irritated ASEAN neighbor

Article Abstract:

General elections were held in Singapore in 2006, and it also hosted the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary fund, two occasions showcasing Singapore's efficient government and achievements in city planning. The haze from ASEAN neighbor Indonesia continues to trouble Singapore, while certain activities of Singapore created displeasure in Thailand and Malaysia.

Unfolding Canada-Bangladesh relations

Article Abstract:

Canada is considered as a strong supporter of Bangladesh since its independence in the year1971. An examination on the development of Canada-Bangladesh relations based on Bangladesh's main objectives of achieving its targets for economic advancement, harnessing Canadian economic assistance, and promoting trade volume are presented.
