Textual malfeasance in Yosan Akiko's 'Shin'yaku Genji monogatari.'

Article Abstract:

Yosano Akiko's 'Shin'yaku Genji monagatari' reflects the impact of the engagement with 'Gengi' upon her tanka poetry. Akiko utilizes material from 'Genji' to incorporate into her work, producing misrepresentations that have been avoided by scholars and biographers. Transactions between life and art can be reconstructed through concrete examples in her poetry.
