The problem with 'rich refugees' sponsorship, capital, and the informal economy of Tibetan refugees

Article Abstract:

The widespread informal conversion of the symbolic capital into economic capital by showing their status as Tibetan refugees and receiving financial sponsorship from the foreign donors and thus, discouraging the stigma of dependency and gaining a qualitative aspect of donor-recipient relationship in the Tibetan refugee community of Dharmashala (Himachal Pradesh), India is highlighted. An anthropological research should be conducted into the refugees' economies, focusing on the influence of the help on the refugee communities rather than the informal economies of non-institutionalised sponsorships.

Differentiated actors: Central-local politics in China's rural tax reforms

Article Abstract:

The definite roles of the central and local actors in reform decisions with the help of remarks made from research and interviews on the changing patterns of China's rural 'tax-for-fee' reform is detailed, which deals with the most important problem of state extraction and state-society relations in China. It was found that central actors should define and set the goal of action, rules of behaviors for the locals and see that it is implemented properly and also, both the rulers should support and interact in the working while being methodically different within their obvious boundaries.
