A faithful companion

Article Abstract:

People who uses computers for several hours a day should consider using Allsop Sight Saver protective screens, which filter out alpha and beta rays, according to science fiction writer Lionel Fanthorpe. He uses an IBM clone by Oasis Computers. He has upgraded this computer several times, and now has the US Robotics Sportster Flash modem and a Pentium 166. He requires many files for the different work he does, and uses Microsoft Office, which he will upgrade to 98. His favourite program is the Microsoft Autoroute Express, Version 6, GB1998.

@/+='!****!!! Road rage has got nothing on this ...

Article Abstract:

It is becoming increasingly common for people to suffer from computer rage. In some cases, this is prompted by being faced with a computer that is not functioning properly. In other cases, it is prompted by a failure to obtain satisfactory assistance from the supplier's customer service line or by the fact that another member of the family is using the only available computer. It can be very difficult to ascertain whether a supplier will really live up to its promises regarding customer service levels.

The virtual beat goes on

Article Abstract:

The Royal College of Design in London, England, is staging an exhibition of work by students on its MA course in Computer Related Design. The exhibits promote the idea that computers should be placed in an emotive setting. Exhibits include 'Everyday Disco,' by Sarah Morris and Alex Darlington, which focuses on the movement of the body to sound, atmosphere and objects. Stephanie Hankey's 'Stringer Field Kit' is for use in areas with unreliable telecommunication systems.
