A few more steps on the road to fame

Article Abstract:

Designing footwear for men is very different from designing footwear for women, according to footwear designer Christian Louboutin. He does not wish to design for men, and would rather design garden furniture if he were not designing for women. His designs show signs of a range of influences, but always have a sense of sculpture. He has recently opened a shop in London, England, and is to work with Stella McCartney to design the footwear for her first collection for Chloe.

The road to nowhere

Article Abstract:

The UK's Music Industry Forum has undertaken an investigation of live music in response to growing concerns about a decline in the popularity of live music. Many people support live music in principal, but new bands still find it extremely hard to gain support for live appearances. Even well-known bands require sponsorship or record company backing. It is to be hoped that the Music Industry Forum's report will lead to improved conditions for promoters and musicians.

Marching the ancient Orange road to nowhere

Article Abstract:

Members of Northern Ireland's Orange Order claim that their many marches every year are simply a tradition. In fact, these marches have much more sinister connotations, and serve to heighten social and religious tension in Northern Ireland. By marching, the Orange Order is attempting to indicate that Catholics are second-class citizens, and showing itself as a specifically anti-Catholic organisation.
