A great Power in a rough business
Article Abstract:
Vince Power owns five fashionable London, England, concert halls and organises rock music festivals. He came to England from Dublin in the 1970s and developed a chain of furniture stores. He made one of them into a country music club, the Mean Fiddler, in 1982. He had to change the type of music to succeed. He opened a night club called Subterrania in west London. He took over the Town and Country club in Kentish Town from Ollie Smith. Power plans a chain of Mean Fiddlers in the UK and France.

It's Friday, so where's the leaving do?
Article Abstract:
Increased mobility in the labour market means that many people are now leaving their employer before official retirement age. This has brought considerably increased business for industries and services connected with the traditions of leaving an employer, such as retailers of flowers, chocolates and greetings cards. Above all, the increased frequency of people leaving an employer has benefited pubs and bars, where colleagues gather to mark the event.

A great football club - with a pitch attached
Article Abstract:
It is likely that within a few years there will be only a few very large football clubs operating in the UK. Advertising deals have become extremely important, and these are being put before the interests of ordinary football crowds. Increasingly, poorer people can no longer afford to attend matches, and football will become a game for the elite before very long. Players now earn huge salaries, and transfer fees have rocketed.
