It can sometimes be hard for an actor to understand why the general public often fail to make a distinction between a character and the actor playing that part, according to actor Richard Wilson. He greatly dislikes being closely associated with Victor Meldrew, the character he plays in the television series 'One Foot in the Grave.' He is currently directing 'Tom and Clem,' a new play by Stephen Churchett, in London, England. These deals with the passion of politics, and is very relevant in the run-up to the general election.

Many musicals are rather weak, according to actress Imelda Staunton. She does not feel that this is the case with 'Guys and Dolls,' a musical with which she has become closely associated. She no longer has an extremely strong drive to constantly attempt new parts, but still cares very much about acting.
