American dreamers

Article Abstract:

DreamWorks, the film studio established by Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg, has proved extremely successful. In 1998, only its second year of film releases, all its films were very popular, with US box-office receipts averaging 65 million pounds sterling per film. DreamWorks has now purchased a plot of land on the Westside of Los Angeles, CA, and plans to construct its own high-tech production facilities. However, there are some negative rumours circulating about the studio, and problems could emerge if the relationship between Katzenberg, Geffen and Spielberg starts to break down.

The little black book that has Hollywood in a spin

Article Abstract:

Jody Diane 'Babydol' Gibson, who tried unsuccessfully to establish a career as a singer in 1992, is to be arraigned on multiple charges of pimping and pandering. It is alleged that she operated an extremely successful high-class prostitution business, with clients including businessmen and film producers. According to the Los Angeles police department, which took 10 months to arrest Gibson, her arrest is the most significant for such crimes since that of Heidi Fleiss in 1993.
