Arsenic-tainted water from Unicef wells is poisoning half of Bangladesh

Article Abstract:

Large numbers of the tubewells installed in Bangladesh by Unicef are supplying water containing arsenic, causing many people to be afflicted by skin cancers, intestinal cancers and bronchitis. There are particular problems across the middle of Bangladesh, where the earth is alluvium deposited by the Ganges. It is possible that the drinking water of 60 million people, or half the population of Bangladesh, is contaminated.
