M&S boardroom regains its calm

Article Abstract:

The board of Marks & Spencer has voted unanimously that the company should be headed by Peter Salsbury. This development seems to have marked the beginning of a new era of greater openness at the company, where directors have in the past carefully avoided contact with the media. Uncertainty within the Marks & Spencer management hierarchy has had a negative impact on the company's image, but it is still regarded as setting a benchmark for quality. Retail experts believe that Salsbury will now have to introduce changes.
