Blundering CIA set to go the way of the dinosaurs

Article Abstract:

It is becoming increasingly widely acknowledged in the US that the CIA's future is very uncertain. The organization has been particularly badly damaged by former employees who have publicly expressed reservations about its purpose. Former director James Schlesinger, for example, has stated that there are doubts about the effectiveness of the CIA in undertaking espionage, while Stansfield Turner, another former director, feels that the US should build up a new espionage service.

Protest marks failed dream of integration

Article Abstract:

The decision by Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam organisation, to stage a 'Million Man March' aimed at bringing black people together to boost their self-reliance and sense of social responsibility, has attracted considerable controversy. Some anti-racist organisations feel unable to support Farrakhan because of his commitment to black separatism, and feel very uneasy about his approach of rallying political support around the concept of a common enemy.
