Boys will be boys

Article Abstract:

The extremely popular television series 'Men Behaving Badly' has been wrongly seen by the media as encouraging anti-social behaviour such as heavy drinking in young men, according to actor Neil Morrissey, who plays Tony, one of the two main characters. In fact, young men have behaved in this way for many generations, and the programme attracts a much wider audience than just young men. The media see the two main characters as womanising football hooligans, whereas they are actually pathetic, feeble young men.

Nothing to it, old boy

Article Abstract:

The best actors and actresses are those who do not have an obvious technique, instead taking a very simple approach, according to Sir Alec Guinness, who is now in his 83rd year but is soon to appear on television in 'Eskimo Day,' a film written by Jack Rosenthal and directed by Piers Haggard. This shows an academic who must consider going into an old people's home, but he does not see the role as having any parallels with his own advanced age.

Coogan's straight run: from bonks to bungs

Article Abstract:

There is very little that can be done to restrict the activities of the tabloid press in the UK, according to comedian and actor Steve Coogan. He has himself been the victim of media intrusion. He plays a journalist in the BBC1 film 'The Fix,' which tells the true story of media investigation of football match-rigging in the 1960s. He believes that he has not allowed his dislike of tabloid journalists to influence how he plays this role.
