The finest secrets of Venice

Article Abstract:

Visitors to Venice, Italy, are well advised to look beyond the Grand Canal area to uncover the city's real character. It is worth, for example, taking a very inexpensive ferry ride across the Grand Canal to markets and bars which are less popular with tourists. There are many churches at the eastern end of the city which are extremely interesting, and visitors are also recommended to journey to the islands of San Francesco del Deserto, San Lazzaro degli Armeni and Lazzaretto Vecchio.

Art galleries: dontcha hate 'em?

Article Abstract:

Attending a private viewing at a commercial art gallery can be a stressful experience, both for art lovers and for artists themselves. The atmosphere tends to be very strained, and visitors are often given the impression that they are not welcome. Art galleries tend to focus on their lists of potential clients, and are very scornful of those not on these lists.
