Spanish mime artist La Ribot does not believe that her education or background are significant, and will not even reveal her real name. She sees herself as expanding into new forms of expression, rather than avant-garde. The naked body is central to her performance, and she is most well known for 'Socorro! Gloria!,' a piece in which she take seven minutes to remove many layers of clothing. She must be extremely precise with her movements, leaving no room for improvisation or mistakes.

There is a great deal of competition between American and British actresses, according to actress Minnie Driver. Many British actresses can play Americans, but there are a few American actresses who have strong objections to their doing so. She admires some British actresses, but really wants to establish a reputation of her own. She feels that she has not really been accepted yet in either the UK or the US, and believes that some people resent her success.
