Article Abstract:

The National Farmers Union surveyed 200 sheep farmers in 1991 and found that over 1/3 had health problems possibly connected with using sheep dips containing organophosphorous (OP) pesticides. Inhalation or skin contact may cause joint pains, depression and neuro-psychological damage. These effects of OP were described in 1961.The West Midlands Poisons Unit in Birmingham is conducting a surveillance scheme funded by the Health and Safety Executive and the Department of Health.

The new fad in college courses, whiteness studies is a reflection of the times including class identification and the kind of people occupying the White House. The diversity in white studies philosophy, the characteristics of its scholars, and the notion of what it is, is discussed.
