Crunch time for Walkers crisps

Article Abstract:

The decision by crisp manufacturer Walkers to transfer its 11 million pounds sterling advertising account from BMP DDB to AMV BBDO was very surprising, given that BMP had developed a very successful advertising campaign for the brand. It is clear that BMP has fallen victim to the fact that Walkers, which is owned by Frito-Lay, is in turn ultimately controlled by PepsiCo. This company has been realigning its international advertising activities, placing them all in the BBDO agency network. Advertising agencies are having to become larger and more multinational as their clients do so.

Treats for those with a taste for food

Article Abstract:

There are many different career opportunities available in the UK food manufacturing industry. However, there is little awareness of these opportunities among graduates, except those who have studied food technology. Most leading food manufacturers run graduate intake schemes, and starting salaries average 16,000 pounds sterling. There are opportunities for graduates in disciplines including operations, technical development, marketing, finance and personnel.

I've looked at work from both sides now

Article Abstract:

It has become increasingly common in the UK for graduates to consider self-employment. They realize that they can no longer take steady career progression for granted, and are therefore seeking to build up a portfolio of skills. They see self-employment and small companies as the best environment in which to gain these skills. The graduates who are most successful in self-employment are those who have a specific marketable idea or specialism.
