Crusade to ban landmines falters in the face of mankind's savagery

Article Abstract:

The Ottawa Treaty was iimplemented in 1998, and landmines stocks have been destroyed by many who signed the agreement against anti-personnel mines, yet they are still being laid in Angola. There were 135 countries which signed the treaty, and 84 of then ratified it, though the US, India, China and Russia did not take part. It is unclear whether more mines are being removed from land than are laid, but the total stock of landmines world wide appears to have diminished.
