Dawn, nanny, bliss ...

Article Abstract:

It is often very complicated to employ a nanny, especially as there is no national registration system and almost anybody can work as a nanny without necessarily being properly qualified. It is worth focusing on applicants who have the NNEB qualification, but the most important step before taking on a nanny is to check references. Even nannies who are fully qualified will not necessarily be reliable or look after the children as the parents would wish. A good nanny is a great help to parents who work full time, especially if she is also prepared to do some housework.

Nanny's been sick all over the carpet, Mummy

Article Abstract:

Recruiting a nanny can be an extremely difficult process, as there are many different considerations to be taken into account. It is vital to check all past employment details, as this task is usually not undertaken by a nanny employment agency. For the reassurance of both sides, it is worth ensuring that there is an agreed and written job description. Parents must remember that the applicant they like best is not necessarily the right person to care for their child.

Take care - employing a nanny isn't child's play

Article Abstract:

Employers of domestic staff are required to deduct tax and National Insurance through the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) scheme. There is a simpler method for domestic staff earning under 8,500 pounds sterling a year, known as the Q scheme. Some household insurance policies include employers' liability insurance. The Norland College of nursery nursing calculates that higher-rate taxpayers need to earn 16,000 pounds sterling more to cover the cost of a nanny.
