Photojournalism: Diana is not its greatest victim

Article Abstract:

Photojournalism has had to address questions of ethics, decency and taste from its very beginnings. It has been accepted for many years that newspapers can be sold on the basis of photographs, and this has encouraged editors to put pressure on photographers to get photographs with public interest at any cost. Some photojournalists have behaved extremely heroically, however, and others have made great personal sacrifices in order to record human tragedy.

Diana's legacy to the nation for the New Year

Article Abstract:

The reaction to the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, showed that there is a clear desire for social change among ordinary Britons. Her death was met with deep religious feeling, and it is important that religious institutions acknowledge this and put it to good use. Religion must be shown to be a force for justice, peace and harmony, and ordinary people must be encouraged to follow the values exemplified in the life of Diana, Princess of Wales.
