Euro row descends on CBI conference

Article Abstract:

The UK's Labour government is seeking to gain maximum political advantage from the conflict between the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the Conservative party over the European single currency. Chancellor Gordon Brown will seek to show Labour as the natural party of business by announcing plans for business to use the European single currency if the UK joins the single currency system after the next election. The CBI is keen to stress that it is not in conflict with any political party.
