Family at war

Article Abstract:

Novelist and filmmaker Hanif Kureishi presents a picture of his family as being of working class origin in his new book 'Intimacy' and in his former novel and television adaptation 'The Buddha of Suburbia.' This view is disputed by his younger sister Yasmin, who states that they actually grew up in pleasant, middle class surroundings. She believes that her brother falsified their family history in order to make more money. This dispute is an example of how even a novelist's own family can fail to make the distinction between fiction and biography.

The initial temporary museum could be sited at Battersea Power Station, Bankside or Canary Wharf.
