Article Abstract:

Walt Disney Co. has attracted strong criticism from the Southern Baptist Church, the largest protestant denomination in the US. The company, which has traditionally been seen as promoting family values, is now accused of having sympathy with the homosexual lifestyle. It certainly has gay-tolerant policies, and has allowed gay advocacy groups to hold events at Florida Disneyworld. The Southern Baptist Church is a powerful group in US society, but its stance does not seem to have had any real impact on Walt Disney so far. The company is extremely firmly established in US society, and this situation is unlikely to change.
