Good vibrations

Article Abstract:

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, who wrote the album 'Pet Sounds', celebrated his 50th birthday in Jun 1992, two days after Paul McCartney, but it was not noted publicly. Brian was helped by Dr Eugene Landy to recover from obesity and drug addiction after four nervous breakdowns. Dr Landy controlled Brian's life and co-wrote his 1988 album. The Beach Boys rushed Brian into touring and writing after his recovery. Brian's autobiography, 'Wouldn't It Be Nice: My Own Story' explains how his family mistreated him.

Crooners, clubbers - it's all a blur

Article Abstract:

Today's young people have very varied musical tastes, and pop music has become very fragmented. Pop music is no longer the exclusive preserve of the young, as there are now people in their 40s, 50s and 60s who grew up with pop music. It can no longer be used by young people to rebel against the tastes of their parents, and is no longer seen as anti-establishment. Young people who really want to seem rebellious must now look much harder for underground styles of music.
