Goodbye Hong Kong

Article Abstract:

The handover of Hong Kong to China has brought British colonialism to an end. This event has been marked by a mixture of emotions, and Hong Kong's future seems very uncertain. UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, who was present in Hong Kong for various handover ceremonies, has been keen to emphasize that the UK seeks friendly relations with China, partly for the benefit of Hong Kong. However, some Hong Kong residents fear that China will gradually erode Hong Kong's democratic structures.
