Helen incites harassment

Article Abstract:

Feminist writer Helen Garner now greatly regrets having written a letter of sympathy to a lecturer at Ormond College, at the University of Melbourne, Australia, who was accused of sexually harassing two female students. She found that she was both drawn into and excluded from the controversy which surrounded the case, and later transformed her experiences into a book. She received some very negative responses, especially from feminists directly linked with the main supporter of the students concerned.

Fatal egg by pleasure laid

Article Abstract:

Remorse is one of the most difficult emotions to cope with. People who experience strong feelings of remorse make life very hard for themselves, and can also place a great burden on other people, as they often blame others and expect them to apologise for many apparent transgressions. In contrast, other people regard remorse as simply self-indulgent and pointless, emphasising the need to constantly move on and forget the past.

What should I do with my frozen embryos?

Article Abstract:

Very mixed views are being expressed in the UK about whether frozen human embryos should be disposed of in accordance with a five-year time limit. At present, it seems likely that up to 2,500 embryos will be destroyed because their parents cannot be contacted. Some parents do not wish to have any more children of their own, but would prefer to see their embryos donated to other childless couples, rather than simply destroyed.
