Heroin gangs compete for slice of 1bn pounds sterling racket

The growing influence of Pakistani drugs syndicates is forcing the UK's investigating authorities to review how they deal with heroin importation. Pakistani criminals are exploiting the fact that their home country is close to Afghanistan, the source of almost all the heroin imported into the UK.

Only seven percent of drugs are seized, admit police

A report has revealed that the British police only intercept seven percent of illegal drug shipments. The large amounts of heroin and cocaine being imported has caused prices to drop substantially.
